Questwatch Dialogues

A Role Play Adventure!

Questwatch’s dialogue has never been dubbed, with the exception of one line from Tracer for each chapter.

1. Royal Watchpoint

Tracer: Everyone excited to play Role Heroes? Emily’s been working on this campaign for ages! Do you have your characters ready?

Orisa: I have chosen to be a flying beast. A GR-iffon, in fact.

Tracer: I’m going to be a knight! After a few more levels, anyway.

Emily (Storyteller): The other players are running late, so let’s get started! You awaken to a screech outside your window. The Royal Astronomer0s eagle has bought you a missive.

Tracer: I think we’re about to get a quest! Give it a read, GR-iffon!

Orisa: This message tells of monsters surrounding the Demon Lord’s lair atop Mount Malevento. We must bring his seal to the Queen of Overland and warn her of this threat.

Tracer: Guess we’re off to stop a Demon Lord! How exactly do that, anyway?

Emily (Storyteller): According to legend, you need an ancient artifact to banish the Demon Lord: the Pulse Amulet.

Tracer: Ooh, a Pulse Amulet, sounds exiting! Well GR-iffon, ready to fly?

Orisa: Affirmative, setting a flighpath for the Royal Keep!

2. Slime Caves

Tracer: I can’t believe we still haven’t had any random encounters! Em, you roll this time. My dice are cursed.

Orisa: The skies are clear. I will punish any threat from afar long before it reaches us.

Emily (Storyteller): Funny you say that GR-iffon; I just rolled for rain. Do you want to take shelter in the caves up ahead?

Tracer: You mean the Slime Caves? Now that sounds dangerous!

Echo: You have entered my domain! Please identify yourself, travelers.

Tracer: Echo, you made it! I mean… back foul Slime Queen! I’m Tracer, knight of the realm!

Orisa: She is not a knight yet, but we are here to stop the Demon Lord. Could we rest here?

Echo: I will inform my subjects to treat you as guests. Anm enemy of the Demon Lord is a friend of mine.

Emily (Storyteller): After a night of rest, the party prepares for the final day of travel. Thanks for joining, Echo! Let’s all take a break for some food.

3. Capital of Overland

Tracer: I can’t wait to meet Queen Emily. Countless tales are told of her wisdom and beauty!

Emily (Storyteller): Queen Emiliana, actually.

Tracer: Right! Well, I cant wait to meet her. Should we head to the castle, GR-iffon?

Emily (Storyteller): The city is as beautiful as the stories say, and there’s lots to explore. I actually made a map…

Orisa: We will examine it later. I would like to fly us to the castle gate.

Genji: I, Queen Emiliana’s knight, will block your path. Why have you come here?

Tracer: Aw, how come Genji gets to start as a knight?

Genji: Emily and I have been working on my backstory for weeks. The crown took me in when I was a child-

Emily (Storyteller): Genji, sit down! Lena, the guards see you have the Astronomer’s seal and take you to the Queen right away.

Tracer: So the tales are true! We have travelled far to see you, Queen Emily. I give her a bow and a cheeky wink.

Emily (Storyteller): Uh, let’s just say you warn the Queen, and she sends her knight with you to help face the dangers ahead!

4. Adventurer's inn

Tracer: My armor’s in rough shape after that last fight. Can we can pop over to a smithy?

Emily (Storyteller): You find a small village off the trail. There’s no blacksmith but there’s an inn.

Genji:We can get directions. I will ask the innkeeper.

Tracer: Uh, maybe I should ask this time! You’re a bit quicker with your sword than your wit, Sir Genji.

Emily (Innkeeper): So, looking to get your armor fixed?

Tracer: Actually, an upgrade would be nice!

Emily (Innkeeper): They say the Alchemist can transmute your gear to make it stronger. Her workshop is just over that ridge.

Tracer: Thanks, love! Alright everyone, new plan: rest here for the night, Alchemist in the morning!

Orisa: GR-iffons require regular maintenance to maintain peak performance. I shall enter rest mode untile the dawn.

5. Alchemy workshop

Tracer: Who’s playing the Alchemist? I can’t face the Demon Lord with rubbish gear!

Mei (Variable responses): That’s me, sorry I’m late!

  1. Hana and I were experimenting with liquid cooling on her mech.
  2. Hanzo and I were making ice sculptures.
  3. Cole and I were recycling his target practice bottles.
  4. Lúcio and I were trying out an aerobics routine.
  5. Fareeha was using Sonowball to record her trick shots.
  6. Winston had a peanut butter emergency.
  7. Brigitte was showing me her latest poem.
  8. Vivian. and I were baking croissants.

Orisa: Mei, are you joining our party? The realm is in great peril.

Mei: I can’t play for very long, but Emily gave me this puzzle for you to solve.

Emily (Storyteller): The wall of the Alchemist’s workshop has a scroll with a spell formula on it.

Tracer: I love puzzles! Looks like we need a chrono-gem to solve this one.

Mei: According to my notes, chrono-gems can only be found in the Mythic Mines to the NorthEast

Tracer: Say no more, this future knight is on the case. To the Mythic Mines!

6. Mythic Mines

Tracer: Thanks for leading us through the mines, Mei! You’re fearless!

Mei : Of course, Lena. And now that we have the chrono-gem, I can upgrade your armor.

Emily (Storyteller): Lena, you feel a surge of power rush through you as Mei performs the transmutation.

Tracer: Yeah! I’m unstoppable!

Mei: Um, it won’t make you invincible, but Emily can explain. I really have to go, have fun everyone!

Genji: Thank you, Alchemist. Do you know where we can find the Pulse Amulet?

Tracer: Oh, right, I forgot about that thing. Whoops.

Genji: Don’t worry, Emily. I have been taking careful notes.

Emily (Storyteller): As she says goodbye, the Alchemist hands you a map to the Ancient Woods. If the legends are true, the Pulse Amulet should be there.

7. Ancient Woods

Tracer: Oh great Role Leader, are we almost there yet?

Emily (Storyteller): After a few hours of travel, the canopy of the Ancient Woods come into view. When you land, you are ambushed by a band of thieves!

Kiriko: Take one more step and my rougues will have their kunai at your throats.

Genji: Kiriko, shouldn’t you be helping us?

Kiriko: What? Emily said I can do anything in this game. You’re in trouble now, SHimada.

Tracer: But we’re here to stop the Demon Lord! We’re looking for the Pulse Amulet.

Kiriko: How can I know you’re up to the task? Sorry, but keeping the forest safe is my priority.

Orisa: We do not wish to fight you, but we would win. Let us through.

Tracer: Whoah, no need for that! Why don’t you take us to the amulet and let the forest decide?

Emily (Storyteller): Alright, let’s do a negotiation roll. Orisa, you can roll too since you look so fierce!

Kiriko: …ugh, my dice! Okay, I’ll take you there. But watch your step, I’ver set up traps all around the Hearth of the Forest.

8. Hearth of the Forest

Tracer: Very funny Kiriko, but I think Genji could use some healing after dashing into that spike pit.

Kiriko: Don’t look at me, I’m playing a thief in this game.

Emily (Storyteller): Genji, roll for deth evasion again. GR-iffon, with your keen eyesight, you’re the first spot a massive tree up ahead.

Orisa: Role Heroes, our quest continues! The Hearth of the Forest awaits us.

Kiriko: The Pulse Amulet is inside the tree. You need a high heart stat to claim it.

Tracer: I reach for the amulet and envision my wish to defeat the Demon Lord.

Emily (Storyteller): Nice roll, Lena! A knot in the tree unfurls as the forest offers you the Pulse Amulet.

Tracer: Right, no time to waste. GR-iffon, chart a flightpath to Mount Malevento!

9. Mount Malevento

During the Defeat the Demon Lord game mode, Reinhardt has a demonic voice filter.

DEMON LORD

Emily (Storyteller): When you arrive, the sky is red with fire and demons are swarming the slopes of Mount Malevento.

Orisa: Sir Genji and I will fight off these fiends. My feathers are bristling with a hunger for battle!

Reinhardt: Ha! You will never banish me, puny mortals!

Emily (Storyteller): Reinhardt, please don’t play with their figurines.

Reinhardt: But Emily, look! They are so little! I can fit all of them in my hand, and some of your demons, too.

Tracer: Put down my friends, foul Demon Lord!

Reinhardt: Never! Emily says I want to destroy you all and conquer the realm with my army of demon toys!

Tracer: Emily, let me use the Pulse Amulet on him!

Emily (Storyteller): You hold out the amulet and activate its ancient magic, sending the Demon Lord and his minions back to their plane.

Reinhardt: I’ll get you next time, noble hero! But for now, I will banish myself back to the kitchen more of those scones.

Tracer: know we defeated the Demon Lord, but can we keep playing? I want to report back to Queen Emily!

10. Queen's Castle

Tracer: The flight back from a successful mission is always so relaxing, right GR-iffon?

Orisa: It is good that we saved the world. Emily worked very hard on it.

Emily (Storyteller): Music fills the air around you as the people in the Capital celebrate your return. When you land at the castle steps, you are welcomed with open arms and brought before the queen.

Genji: Does this mean we are heroes?

Tracer: We’ve always been heroes, Genji!

Emily (Queen): Noble adventurers, in the name of the Kingdom of Overland, I award you the honor od becoming Knights of the Realm.

Tracer: Yes, we finally did it! We’re knights, Orisa!

Genji: Thank you for teaching us how to play Role Heroes, Emily. Could we play again sometime?

Emily (Storyteller): Of course! I have more stories I want to tell.
